Why have I never seen a body like mine included in the body positivity movement? I am a proud curvy HAIRY girl!! Not only do I free the pits, legs, and bush, but it has taken me so so so so so so long to accept that I, an 18 year old girl, have hair on my stomach!!! No, it’s not just a little. I have a condition where my body produces more testosterone than the average female, I don’t have cutesy little fuzz, I have thick dark hairs, very similar to that of the acceptable male norm. 

I have gone my whole adolescence being afraid of my body, I’ve seen so much body hair positivity lately, which is great, but none including a body like mine. I always thought I was disgusting, and that no one would ever love a body like mine.

YOUR BODY HAIR, ALL OF IT, IS BEAUTIFUL!!!

Whether you have hair on your legs, armpits, pussy, tits, face, arms, ANYWHERE, it is OKAY!! This is YOUR body. I still work every day to be more comfortable in my own skin, and I am tired of trying to fix that to make other people happy. 

This is a photograph of my stomach, 2 weeks post op, after a 10 pound cystic mass was removed along with my right ovary, my tummy was shaved to ensure that the surgery go as smoothly as possible. I was so embarrassed of my stomach hair that I had ignored going to the doctors for months after my body started showing signs of a problem. 

Don’t let your bodies natural happenings get in the way of you living your life to the fullest!
